Fawzi Lqja, the Minister Delegate in Charge of Budget, announced that the acceptance rate of applications for direct social support reached 98.4% in June, reflecting the widespread reach of this program aimed at those in need.
In response to a question from the Istiqlal parliamentary group regarding issues related to social support, Lqja clarified that the rate of rejected applications did not exceed 1.6%. He attributed this to changes within some families or to individuals benefiting from other support programs in both the public and private sectors.
He emphasized that citizens whose applications were rejected have the right to file appeals with the authorities overseeing the unified social register, providing documentation that proves their entitlement, in line with a framework based on transparency and fairness.
Lqja noted that the government is currently reviewing the criteria used to determine beneficiaries, aiming to enhance the targeting system to make it more equitable and precise. He reaffirmed that the implementation of the program is proceeding smoothly, targeting eligible groups accurately.
The minister concluded that this support forms one of the fundamental pillars of building a social state, within the framework of the Royal project related to reforming the social system. He highlighted that the program is subject to ongoing monitoring and evaluation to ensure its effective performance and equitable distribution.
