Hicham Sabri Leads Meeting in Hirawia to Strengthen Incorporation of the Informal Sector into the Organized Economy

Hicham Sabri, Secretary of State for Employment at the Ministry of Economic Integration, Small Enterprises, Employment, and Skills, chaired a communication meeting with representatives of the professional association of the Hirawia industrial economic zone on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. This meeting was part of ongoing efforts to integrate the informal sector into the organized economic framework.

The discussion focused on mechanisms to facilitate the transition of businesses and workers from the informal sector to the formal one, aiming to achieve sustainable economic and social development at both local and national levels. It emphasized the necessity of adopting a comprehensive approach that considers legal support and coordination between public and private stakeholders.

Participants highlighted the importance of reconciling the improvement of working conditions and protection of workers’ rights with sustaining the competitiveness and profitability of businesses. There were calls for greater legal and tax transparency, as well as the enhancement of professional and social stability as cornerstones for the success of this national initiative.
