French Police Arrest Player Youcef Belaïli at Charles de Gaulle Airport
The French police arrested Algerian player Youcef Belaïli on Wednesday morning upon his arrival at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris from New York, following his involvement in a brawl that occurred on the plane.
The French site “Foot Mercato” reported that the incident began when the Esperance de Tunis player refused to fasten his seatbelt despite repeated warnings from the flight crew, which caused tensions to rise in the cabin and escalated into a fight that required security intervention as soon as the plane landed.
The same source indicated that the player’s behavior compelled French authorities to take swift action and detain him for questioning about the incident, particularly after he disrupted the flight’s order.
Youcef Belaïli is a well-known name in the Maghreb football scene, having previously worn the jerseys of several Arab clubs and represented the Algerian national team in major international tournaments.
