The Criminal Court in Ain Seba, Casablanca, issued a ruling on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, convicting Mohammed Bouddiriga, the former president of Raja Casablanca and former member of parliament for the National Rally of Independents, to five years of imprisonment.

The court also ordered him to pay a financial fine and prohibited him from issuing checks for one year, following charges related to issuing bounced checks, fraud, forgery of a private document, and misusing a certificate issued by the administration.

German authorities had arrested him at Hamburg Airport on July 16, 2024, based on a warrant issued by Moroccan authorities, and he was handed over to Morocco last April.

Mohammed Bouddiriga had previously been stripped of his membership in the House of Representatives by the Constitutional Court due to his absence for an entire legislative year without a valid excuse, which he attributed to being outside Morocco for recovery following a surgical operation in England.
