Casablanca is preparing to host the Research and Innovation Awards ceremony and sign support agreements for startups on July 10, 2025. This major event, organized by the Moroccan Association for Development Research, will present the awards for the sixteenth edition of the National Research, Innovation, and Technology Competition. Agreements for financing will also be signed with 12 selected startups under the “R&D Maroc 60 Startups” program.
The event will see the participation of stakeholders from the scientific research, investment, and innovation sectors, along with representatives from public institutions and media, aiming to highlight national talents and support an entrepreneurial environment based on advanced technology.
This year’s competition set a record with over 200 applications submitted by young researchers and inventors from various regions of the kingdom. Following a meticulous selection process overseen by a team of experts, eight winning projects were announced, alongside two that received special mentions from the jury. The chosen projects focus on strategic sectors such as water, energy, health, and food security, aligning with national sustainable development goals.
In support of technology-driven startups, the association intends to sign financing agreements with 12 selected companies in the deep technology sector, each receiving grants of up to 400,000 dirhams under the “TECH START” program, funded by the Innov Invest Fund for the period of 2024–2029. This support aims to assist companies in developing prototypes and enhancing their readiness for future funding rounds.
This initiative falls within a national strategy to stimulate innovation and strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem by enabling national talents to contribute to the economy and providing a space for collaboration between public and private actors. This event is expected to highlight Morocco’s significant potential in the field of scientific and technological innovation and reinforce its status as a promising platform for research and development.
