Health Minister Amin Tehroua inaugurated the services of eight urban health centers in the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region on Friday, July 11, 2025, following their complete rehabilitation and equipping.
The minister personally attended the opening of the “Aqba Ben Nafi” health center in Kénitra, which has begun receiving patients. Additionally, services from seven other health centers were launched remotely, including “Mohammed Zerktouni,” “Shaheeda,” and “Hay Al-Salam” in Kénitra, as well as “Abou Rqraq” and “Diour Al-Jami” in Rabat, along with the “Yasmin” and “Ouled Ghazi” centers in the provinces of Khmisat and Sidi Slimane.
This initiative is part of a program to modernize health infrastructure and implement royal directives for a comprehensive reform of the health system. The aim of this reform is to ensure citizens have access to quality health services within the context of universal health coverage and social protection.
The new centers belong to a modern generation of primary healthcare institutions and provide various medical services, including general and specialized consultations in pediatrics, respiratory diseases, dermatology, mental health, sports medicine, and occupational health. They also offer ongoing monitoring of chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and tuberculosis, in addition to maternal and child health services, school health, health awareness, and nursing care.
The Ministry of Health has mobilized specialized medical and nursing staff to serve over 202,000 residents in the targeted area and equipped the centers with modern medical equipment. The centers are also connected to a unified information system that allows patients to have electronic medical records accessible at both regional and national levels, aiming to enhance coordination and facilitate the treatment pathway.
