The movements of European clubs seeking to sign Moroccan international defender Nayef Aguerd, a player for West Ham United, continue to escalate, fueled by growing interest in his services during the ongoing summer transfer window.
French website “Footmercato” revealed that English club Sunderland has entered the mix to secure the signature of the 29-year-old player, joining a long list of clubs that have shown interest in the Moroccan defender. This includes Atlético Madrid from Spain, Bayer Leverkusen from Germany, and Olympique Marseille from France, alongside Italian giants Roma and Milan. Additionally, Real Sociedad is looking to purchase his contract outright after he played for them on loan.
The same source noted that Aguerd has yet to make a decision about his future, despite the multiple offers and interest from prominent clubs across the top five leagues, as he remains contracted to West Ham until the summer of 2027.
Several teams are betting on acquiring Aguerd due to his European experience and international expertise, making him an attractive option to strengthen their defensive lines, whether in the Premier League or beyond.
