Naïf Akéhrd Takes a Stance on Returning to West Ham and England

It seems that Moroccan international Naïf Akéhrd is experiencing a critical transitional phase in his professional career, as British media reports indicate that the defender no longer wishes to continue with West Ham United or take on another experience in the Premier League.

According to Hammers News, Akéhrd has refused to join the London club’s training sessions, preferring to conduct individual workouts to maintain his fitness and avoid any injuries that could hinder his anticipated transfer this summer.

The sources confirmed that the player clearly informed West Ham’s management of his desire not to continue, neither with the “Hammers” nor with any other club in the Premier League, which reduces his chances of moving to Sunderland, the newly-promoted side, despite their interest in his services.

On the other hand, Akéhrd is attracting significant interest from prominent European clubs, notably Olympique de Marseille, AS Roma, Bayer Leverkusen, and even Real Madrid, according to French reports.

Meanwhile, West Ham is looking to sell several players to raise around £100 million to finance the new manager Graham Potter’s project, and Naïf Akéhrd is among the key names put up for sale, with the club setting his market value between £15 and £17 million.

Given Akéhrd’s strong desire to leave England, his next destination seems likely to be one of the ambitious European clubs, making his signing a topic of keen interest in the ongoing summer transfer market.
