Aziz Akhannouch, the Head of Government, chaired a series of meetings in Rabat on Tuesday aimed at monitoring the implementation of the employment roadmap and assessing progress at the sectoral level.
Representatives from the concerned sectors presented their programs, emphasizing the necessity for institutional coordination and integration between the public and private sectors, involving the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises.
The meetings underscored the importance of increasing private investment, improving access for very small, small, and medium-sized enterprises to support mechanisms, enhancing production efficiency, and accelerating job creation through major construction and public works projects.
Discussions focused on priorities for professional integration, guidance, and skill development, particularly for youth, with an emphasis on promoting employment in rural areas and enabling women to access job opportunities through appropriate support, such as childcare facilities. There was also a commitment to strengthen continuous training and apprenticeship programs, and to enhance coordination between training and employment institutions, led by OFPPT and ANAPEC.
The Head of Government urged various sectors to expedite the implementation of their programs according to the specified timeline, ensuring active engagement in this priority government initiative, highlighting the importance of maintaining the same level of dynamism to guarantee direct impact on the labor market.
Meetings noted an improvement in economic indicators during the first quarter of 2025, with national growth recorded at 4.8%, and the creation of 351,000 non-agricultural jobs, equivalent to three times the jobs created during the same period in 2024, alongside a 0.4 percentage point drop in the unemployment rate.
These coordination meetings are held monthly as part of a continuous and integrated evaluation approach among the concerned ministerial sectors and institutions, ensuring alignment and effectiveness in implementing the national employment roadmap.
