The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, received the head of the National Intelligence Service of the United Arab Emirates, Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri, accompanied by a high-level security delegation, in Rabat this morning as part of a working visit aimed at enhancing security cooperation between the two countries.

This meeting comes as part of a shared effort to strengthen operational coordination and information exchange between security agencies, contributing to addressing rising security threats, particularly the terrorist risks prevalent in various regions around the world.

In this context, discussions between the two sides addressed ways to develop mechanisms for joint fieldwork, emphasizing the importance of elevating collaboration to confront current security challenges, especially those related to areas of tension in their regional surroundings.

The meeting also touched on the security situation in Africa, specifically in the Sahel and Sahara regions, where both parties stressed the necessity of adopting a comprehensive coordinated approach to combat the expansion of terrorist organizations, which have become an increasing concern for security and peace in the area.

This bilateral coordination reflects, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, a strong desire from both the Kingdom of Morocco and the United Arab Emirates to strengthen their security cooperation and expand its domains, ensuring the fortification of the two countries’ security and bolstering their stability in light of growing regional and international threats.
