A strategic bridge project connecting Ouezzane to Taounate via Al Wahda Dam will soon commence in the provinces of Ouezzane and Taounate, with an estimated cost of 65.5 million dirhams. This new bridge will directly link the localities of Zghira (Ouezzane) and Tafrant (Taounate), significantly reducing the distance between the two areas from approximately 100 kilometers to just a few kilometers.

The project aims to enhance road connectivity between the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region and the Fez-Meknes region, alleviate the isolation of rural areas, and boost their economic and tourist attractiveness.

The project will be jointly funded by the regional councils during the period of 2025-2026, with the involvement of several public stakeholders from ministries, local authorities, and project execution agencies. The project coordination will be entrusted to the project execution agency in the Fez-Meknes region.

A steering committee led by the governor of both regions will oversee the implementation of this vital project.
