Wydad Announces New Brazilian Defender

In a strategic move to strengthen their defense, Wydad Athletic Club announced on Saturday the signing of tough Brazilian defender Guilherme Ferreira de Oliveira, as part of their preparations for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

The red team revealed the deal through a promotional video on their official platforms, describing the new player as a "defensive fortress that knows no fear," confirming that Ferreira will be a significant addition to the defense line.

The 28-year-old player arrives in Casablanca from Portuguese club Vilaverdense, bringing with him important European experience. Ferreira marks the third Brazilian reinforcement for Wydad this season, following Pedrinho and Wendell, as part of the club’s strategy to bolster its roster with international expertise.

Ferreira is expected to play a pivotal role in the tactical plans of the team’s coach, especially in the challenging matches awaiting Wydad in the Club World Cup, where they will face teams like Manchester City and Juventus.
