This Wednesday morning, elements from the Royal Gendarmerie based in the Ait Ydine area carried out a significant security operation targeting a commercial establishment in Sidi Slimane, suspected of being involved in the illegal trade of motorcycles that were modified without the necessary legal documentation.
This action followed the arrest of a road user on a motorcycle with questionable legal status. During questioning, he revealed that he purchased the motorcycle from the implicated shop, prompting the gendarmerie, under the instructions of the relevant prosecutor’s office, to proceed with a raid and thorough search of the mentioned establishment.
The operation resulted in the seizure of about ten motorcycles suspected of undergoing unauthorized technical and mechanical modifications, including changes to the engine and other essential components, without adhering to the legal procedures for technical approval.
The seized motorcycles were transported to the premises of the Royal Gendarmerie in Ait Ydine to undergo inspection and examination by the relevant authorities, while investigations continue to identify all individuals involved in this case.
This operation is part of ongoing efforts by the Royal Gendarmerie to combat the phenomenon of illegal transportation trade and to limit its use in conditions that could jeopardize the safety and security of citizens and road users.
