The National Agency for Water and Forests has released precise predictive maps identifying the most sensitive areas at risk of forest fires during the period from June 27 to July 4, 2025. This initiative is based on accurate scientific data and is part of the agency’s proactive efforts to combat this phenomenon on a national level.

In preparing these maps, the agency relied on a field study that assessed the type of forest cover and its flammability, in addition to climate forecasts and the specific topographical conditions of each region.

The agency classified levels of risk by regions, designating a maximum risk in the regions of Tangier-Assilah, Fnideq, Larache, Chefchaouen, Taza, Taounate, Al Hoceima, Kenitra, Beni Mellal, Azilal, Skhirat-Témara, Salé, Rabat, and Khemisset.

Regions identified as having high risk include the provinces of M’diq-Fnideq, Tetouan, Fahs-Anjra, Sefrou, Khénifra, Ifrane, Agadir-Ida Ou Tanane, Taourirt, Oujda-Angad, Nador, Berkane, and Driouch.

Moderate risk was recorded in the provinces of Sidi Slimane, Meknes, Essaouira, Benslimane, and Taroudant.

The National Agency for Water and Forests has urged residents near forest areas, as well as workers, vacationers, and visitors, to exercise the utmost caution and avoid any activities that could ignite fires. They emphasized the importance of immediately reporting any smoke or suspicious behavior to local authorities.
