The Casablanca Arab Film Festival honors Egyptian actor Ahmed Helmy and announces the jury committees

The Casablanca Arab Film Festival has announced that it will honor Egyptian actor Ahmed Helmy during its sixth edition, which will take place from June 13 to 20. This recognition comes in appreciation of Helmy’s significant contributions to enhancing Egyptian and Arab cinema through numerous works that have achieved great commercial success.

The organizing committee of the Casablanca Arab Film Festival has also revealed the members of the jury committees for this edition, which includes competitions for both feature films and long documentaries, as well as short fiction and documentary films.

The jury for the feature films and long documentaries will be chaired by Moroccan director and producer Nabil Ayouch. The jury includes Tunisian critic Henda Hwal, Egyptian actor Baseem Samra, Iraqi director Ahmed Yassin Al-Daraji, and Moroccan actress Nisrin Erradi.

Meanwhile, the short feature films and documentaries jury will be led by Moroccan director and writer Hicham Lasri. This jury includes Egyptian actress Sherine Adel and Jordanian director Daren Salam.

It is worth noting that the Casablanca Arab Film Festival is organized by the “Extension for Culture and Development” association in partnership with the Casablanca City Council. The festival has successfully attracted a group of stars and filmmakers from the Arab world during its previous editions, including Egyptian star Hussein Fahmy, Syrian star Ayman Zidan, Kuwaiti director Hussein Dawood, Egyptian director Khairy Beshara, Lebanese actor Fadi Abi Samra, and Tunisian director Redha Bahri.
