Sunday Weather: Extremely Hot Conditions and Unstable Clouds in the Atlas Mountains
Expect hot to extremely hot weather in several regions of the kingdom this Sunday, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology. High temperatures will prevail along the northern and central coasts, in the Atlas Mountains, as well as in the southeastern regions and southern provinces.
Weather forecasts also indicate the possibility of unstable clouds forming over the High and Middle Atlas mountains and nearby areas, which may be accompanied by scattered rain showers. Local fog is expected during the morning and evening, especially along the Mediterranean coast and the central and southern coasts.
Winds will blow moderately to relatively strong in the southeastern region, central areas, desert provinces, and the Tangier region, as well as in the Atlas Mountains, which may lead to local dust storms.
Minimum temperatures will range between 25 and 30 degrees in hot inland areas, particularly the southeastern regions and eastern parts of the southern provinces, while temperatures will be between 21 and 26 degrees in other plains, the Rif, and the Tangier region, dropping to between 16 and 23 degrees in other areas.
During the day, a slight decrease in temperatures is expected along the central coasts, the Sous region, and the northwest of the southern provinces, while other areas may experience a slight rise in temperatures.
As for the sea state, it will be calm to slightly choppy in the Mediterranean Sea and the Strait of Gibraltar, and slightly choppy to rough along the Atlantic coast.
