Saïdia Mediterranean is preparing to host the Multisport World Cup Moulay Hassan

The city of Saïdia has begun preparations to host one of the most important global stops for the sport of triathlon. The “Moulay Hassan Triathlon World Cup – Saïdia” will take place on Sunday, June 29, 2025, under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, organized jointly by the Moroccan Royal Federation of Triathlon and Madaëf Sports & Events, in the heart of the tourist resort “Saïdia Mediterranean.”

This sporting event is a key highlight in the calendar of the International Triathlon Union and will be broadcast live on the federation’s official platforms, as well as on the Moroccan channel “Arriyadia,” showcasing its significance on both national and international levels.

This year, approximately 140 elite international athletes from over 26 countries will participate, including the top ten athletes in the world (five men and five women). Morocco will be represented by three athletes competing for world ranking points, with the aim of qualifying for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

The competition course has been meticulously prepared within the resort, featuring:

  • A 1.5-kilometer swimming race
  • A 40-kilometer cycling race
  • A 10-kilometer running race

To enhance the participatory aspect of the event, the Moroccan Royal Federation of Triathlon and Madaëf Sports & Events will organize parallel sporting activities on Saturday, June 28, 2025, including:

This program provides amateurs and youth with a stimulating sports experience and a chance to engage in a competitive atmosphere, thus contributing to the promotion of sports culture and encouraging the upcoming generation.

The organizing committee has detailed the event schedule as follows:

Saturday, June 28, 2025:

  • 08:00: Start of age-group competition – Men
  • 08:05: Start of age-group competition – Women
  • 11:30: Reconnaissance ride of the cycling course – Elite category
  • 12:00 – 13:00: Reconnaissance of the swimming course – Elite category
  • 12:30: National Championship awards ceremony
  • 15:00: Registration of athletes
  • 16:00 – 17:00: Technical meeting and distribution of race numbers

Sunday, June 29, 2025:

  • 10:00: Start of the elite race – Women
  • 13:00: Start of the elite race – Men
  • 15:30: Awards ceremony

Saïdia Mediterranean: A Global Tourist and Sporting Destination

“Saïdia Mediterranean” is considered one of the prominent tourist destinations in Morocco, distinguished by its beaches stretching over 14 kilometers and its strategic location near the Moulouya River estuary.
