Russia Rejects Airstrike on Power Plant in Iran
Russia has called on Israel to immediately halt any airstrikes targeting the Bushehr nuclear power plant in southern Iran, emphasizing that the facility houses Russian experts and operates on Russian nuclear fuel, which is returned to Moscow after use to mitigate proliferation risks.
Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, reiterated Moscow’s warning to the United States about the dangers of military intervention in the Iran-Israel conflict, stressing that escalation could lead to serious and unpredictable consequences.
This Russian stance coincides with an Israeli military source denying reports regarding an attack on the Bushehr facility, asserting that the site has not been subjected to any assault.
