A court in the Belgorod region of Russia has issued a ruling to deport a Moroccan national back to his country after violating residence and immigration laws, according to Russian media reports.

The sources indicated that the individual entered Russian territory for educational purposes; however, he was expelled from the educational institution he was attending in 2023. Despite his visa expiring, he continued to reside in Russia, thus breaching the applicable laws.

Alongside the Moroccan citizen, Russian authorities also apprehended a national from Uzbekistan who entered Russia at the beginning of 2024. His registration in the immigration system expired in July, yet he remained in the country illegally, claiming he had lost his passport.

The same sources confirmed that the court imposed a fine of 2000 rubles on both foreign nationals in addition to their deportation to their home countries, where they effectively left Russian territory from a Moscow airport under the supervision of the relevant authorities.
