Royal Air Maroc is poised to strike a historic aircraft deal with Boeing and Airbus to bolster its fleet.

According to Bloomberg Asharq, the Moroccan airline is considering the acquisition of approximately 24 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft to enhance its fleet for long-haul flights, in addition to up to 50 Boeing 737 planes intended for short-haul routes. The airline is also eyeing the purchase of around 20 Airbus A220 aircraft to strengthen its regional flight services.

The source added that the size and timing of the deals are still under discussion. However, sources indicated that a portion of the agreement related to Airbus might be announced next week during the Paris Air Show, while the Boeing deal could be delayed until after an anticipated meeting between King Mohammed VI and U.S. President Donald Trump.

Both Boeing and Airbus have declined to comment, and Royal Air Maroc has yet to issue any official response as it continues to strengthen its position in the aviation market.

Royal Air Maroc aims to meet the increasing demand for air transport, both in commercial flights and cargo, as part of a broader strategy to enhance Morocco’s status as a regional aviation hub in West Africa. This expansion comes as the kingdom prepares to co-host the FIFA World Cup in 2030, with ambitions to attract 26 million tourists by that time.
