Qatar Reopens Its Airspace After Foiling Missile Attack Targeting Al-Udeid Air Base
The General Authority of Civil Aviation in Qatar announced last night, Monday, the resumption of air traffic and the return of skies to normal, following the necessary measures taken in coordination with the relevant authorities, after a temporary suspension imposed due to security developments in the region.
The authority praised, via its official account on the platform X, the significant collaboration shown by all partners and the efforts of all entities in the country to ensure the safety and security of aviation in Qatari airspace.
Earlier yesterday, relevant authorities had temporarily halted air traffic as part of a precautionary package in response to escalating security tensions linked to the Iranian-Israeli conflict.
The Qatari Ministry of Defense announced just hours after the airspace closure that Qatari air defenses successfully intercepted a missile attack that targeted Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar last night.
