Putin and the King of Bahrain Discuss Enhancing Cooperation and Achieving Stability in the Middle East
Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation with Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, during which they discussed bilateral relations and regional developments, particularly in the Middle East.
A statement from the Kremlin confirmed that the two leaders exchanged views on the outcomes of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which took place from June 18 to 21, with Bahrain participating as a guest of honor.
The call also addressed the current situation in the Middle East, where both sides emphasized the urgent need to restore security and stability in the region, reaffirming the importance of the Russian initiative to hold the first Arab-Russian summit in Moscow next October.
In this context, the Bahrain News Agency reported that the phone talks also covered ways to develop bilateral relations across various fields to serve the common interests of both countries.
King Hamad bin Isa expressed his full support for efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability in the region and the world, emphasizing the importance of adopting diplomatic solutions and dialogue to resolve regional crises, thereby ensuring the security and stability of peoples.
The Bahraini monarch also thanked President Putin for the warm welcome extended to the Bahraini delegation participating in the St. Petersburg Forum, led by Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the King’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs.
The King praised Moscow’s role in enhancing global security, especially in light of growing economic challenges and energy crises at the international level.
For his part, Putin expressed appreciation to King Hamad bin Isa for his ongoing commitment to strengthening cooperation and partnership between the two countries, reaffirming Russia’s commitment to continue enhancing bilateral ties and diversifying strategic cooperation areas with Bahrain.
