Morocco Enhances Military Cooperation with NATO Through “REGEND-25”

The Royal Armed Forces hosted the second workshop for the “REGIONAL ENDEAVOUR 2025” (REGEND-25) exercise from June 9 to 13, 2025, under the slogan “Military Contribution to Human Security, Preparedness, and Resilience,” as part of the growing strategic partnership between Morocco and NATO.
The workshop saw participation from representatives of the NATO Allied Joint Force Command in Naples, along with delegations from Jordan, Tunisia, Egypt, and Mauritania, as well as representatives from the African Union. It served as a multinational platform for exchanging experiences and insights on the non-combat roles of armies, especially in areas such as humanitarian assistance, civilian protection, and disaster response.
Discussions during the workshop focused on theoretical presentations and interactive practical exercises that addressed key issues such as enhancing resilience against complex threats, safeguarding cultural properties during conflicts, integrating the women, peace, and security agenda, along with strengthening coordination capabilities between military forces and civilian actors.
The organization of this regional exercise is part of Morocco’s ongoing efforts to enhance its contribution to human security at both regional and international levels, establishing a comprehensive approach that integrates defense tasks with humanitarian and developmental fields.
This close cooperation with NATO also reflects the country’s firm commitment to strengthening its strategic relationships with partners, consolidating its position as a pivotal player in supporting peace and stability through coordinated efforts and sharing military knowledge in a changing environment that demands flexible and proactive alliances.
