Morocco Among Most Searched Summer Destinations by Americans in 2025

According to a report by the luxury travel platform Kinglike Concierge, Morocco has become one of the top global tourist destinations attracting American travelers’ interest for the summer of 2025, based on an analysis of Google Trends data over the first quarter of this year.

The report, released yesterday, places Morocco alongside popular destinations such as Greece, Italy, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Croatia, Austria, and the Netherlands, among countries that have “broken records” in search numbers from Americans looking to spend their summer vacations outside the United States.

This new ranking reflects a shift in American travelers’ preferences toward diverse destinations that offer a mix of culture, history, nature, and adventure, moving away from traditional familiar options.

It appears that Morocco, with its natural and cultural diversity ranging from stunning beaches to ancient cities and traditional markets, is successfully solidifying its position as a preferred choice especially among those seeking a “different cultural experience.”

The report notes that improved air connectivity and the increase in direct flights to airports like Casablanca and Marrakech, along with growing interest from luxury travel agencies, have played a significant role in enhancing Morocco’s appeal on the global travel map. Additionally, American interest in Morocco fits within a broader dynamic that includes other countries in North Africa and Southern Europe benefiting from a post-pandemic tourism recovery wave.

These findings emerge amidst a strong resurgence in demand for international travel among Americans, with other reports indicating that around 88% plan to travel in the next six months, with a growing preference for overseas destinations that combine comfort with cultural discovery.

While countries like Greece and Italy still top the list in terms of search volume, Morocco’s emergence in the rankings reflects a qualitative shift in American travelers’ perception of the country as a “safe, rich, and exciting” destination capable of competing with well-established worldwide tourist spots.
