Moroccan photographers shine at an international underwater photography competition in Tunisia

Morocco made a strong showing at the international underwater photography and video competition held in the city of Monastir, Tunisia, with participation from teams from France, Italy, Algeria, Tunisia, and other countries.

The Moroccan delegation, representing the Royal Moroccan Federation for Diving and Underwater Activities, made a notable impact at this artistic and environmental sporting event, achieving significant results in competitions that require technical precision, high performance, and environmental awareness.

The Moroccan competitors won five prestigious awards:

1. First place for the special jury prize for the best awareness video aimed at preserving the Posidonia plant.
2. Second place in the underwater video category.
3. Second place in the wide-angle photography category.
4. Second place in the best photographic collection category.
5. Third place in the macro photography category.

These awards highlight the advancement of Moroccan divers in the field of underwater photography and underscore their commitment to using art to serve the environment, particularly in preserving Mediterranean marine ecosystems.

The Royal Federation, for its part, continues to support this type of sport through training, participation in international forums, and raising awareness of marine environmental issues, establishing a crossover between sport, art, and environmental consciousness.
