Morocco Telecom and Inwi Launch Uni Fiber and Uni Tower to Accelerate Digital Transformation in the Kingdom
On Wednesday, June 26, 2025, Morocco Telecom (IAM) and Inwi (Wana Corporate) officially announced the launch of their new companies, Uni Fiber and Uni Tower, in a strategic move aimed at accelerating the deployment of fiber optic networks to homes (FTTH) and expanding 5G network coverage across Morocco.
This initiative stems from an agreement signed between the two parties on March 27, 2025, which received official licensing from the National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency in a decision issued on June 18, 2025. This partnership marks a significant milestone in Morocco’s digital infrastructure, affirming key players’ commitment to collaborative efforts to expand digital coverage and enhance the quality of services provided to citizens.
Clear Objectives and Significant Investment
Uni Fiber aims to provide the essential infrastructure needed for residential fiber optic services, with a plan to reach one million connections within two years and three million connections in five years.
On the other hand, Uni Tower will focus on the construction and renovation of tower infrastructure, aspiring to build 2,000 new towers within three years, and expand this number to 6,000 towers over ten years. This expansion will enhance 5G network coverage and provide more efficient and stable connectivity.
To implement the first phase of the project, an investment envelope of 4.4 billion dirhams has been allocated over three years, with joint and equitable financing from both companies.
Morocco Telecom and Inwi confirmed their commitment to providing access to the infrastructure services these companies will offer in an open, transparent, and non-discriminatory manner, strictly adhering to the legal and regulatory framework in force in the Kingdom, which bolsters fair competition and supports the sector’s development.
Both companies expressed their gratitude to the authorities and relevant entities for their support of this important national project, reaffirming their commitment to actively contribute to enhancing Morocco’s technological and economic development.
