Malawi reiterates its full support for Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara and affirms its commitment to the territorial unity of the Kingdom.
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Malawi, Eisenhower Ndowa Makaka, arrived in Rabat as a special envoy from President Lazarus Chakwera, delivering a message to His Majesty King Mohammed VI during a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita.
In a press conference following the meeting, Ndowa Makaka reaffirmed his country’s steadfast support for Morocco’s sovereignty over its southern provinces, emphasizing that “Malawi strongly supports the Kingdom of Morocco regarding the Sahara issue.”
In this context, the special envoy confirmed that his country’s position is “firm and unchanging,” stating that “no solution can be reached outside the framework of Morocco’s territorial integrity.”
He also noted that he conveyed to His Majesty King Mohammed VI a message of friendship from President Chakwera, expressing his best wishes for His Majesty’s continued health, wellbeing, and success.
