Le Bourget: Morocco’s Platform to Showcase Ambitions in Aviation and Investment
Morocco participated in the 55th International Paris Air Show, held from June 16 to 22 at the Le Bourget Exhibition Centre near Paris, led by a high-level official delegation aimed at strengthening international partnerships in aviation and aligning with the royal initiative to modernize the sector.
Transport and Logistics Minister Abdelhamid Ait Ouarab stated that Morocco’s presence at this global event reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to developing major investments in air transport, in line with the visionary plan of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, aimed at making Morocco a main continental, Mediterranean, and Atlantic hub in aviation.
The minister explained that among the objectives of this vision is to increase the capacity of the Kingdom’s airports to 80 million passengers by 2030, expand the Royal Air Maroc fleet to 200 aircraft by 2037, and undertake airport expansion projects, including the construction of a new airport in Casablanca.
During the first day of the exhibition, the minister held a series of meetings with major global stakeholders in the sector, including executives from the Thales Group, emphasizing that the showcased technology represents added value for Moroccan projects, particularly in airport management, aviation safety, and cyber management.
The exhibition witnessed the participation of around 2,500 exhibitors from various countries, more than 130,000 professional visitors, and 322 official delegations. The Moroccan delegation comprised several ministers and officials from the industry, aviation, and investment sectors, including Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour, Minister Delegate Karim Zidane, and Director General of the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development Ali Sadiki.
The Moroccan pavilion, organized by the Moroccan Agency for Investment Development in collaboration with the Moroccan Aerospace Industries Group, showcased the expertise of six Moroccan companies active in the sector, aiming to promote Morocco’s potential and attract new investments.
Over the past two decades, Morocco has accumulated leading experience in the aviation industry, attracting global leaders such as Boeing, Airbus, Safran, Hexcel, Daher, Pratt & Whitney, and Liebherr, enhancing its position as a reliable player and strategic partner in the global aerospace value chains.
