Casablanca Hosts the First Edition of Music Week (CMW) Featuring International Stars and a Diverse Cultural Program

The economic capital of the Kingdom is preparing to host the inaugural “Music Week in Casablanca” from June 20 to 29 at the “La Casablancaise” venue, with participation from top artists in a rich and varied program, expected to attract more than 10,000 visitors daily.

This festival, organized by “Maroc NRJ,” aims to highlight the city’s potential by celebrating music, entertainment, and contemporary creativity, offering a multifaceted experience that blends music, cinema, electronic games, sports, and cultural discussions.

In this context, the founder and artistic director of the festival, Hakim Chikraoui, who is also the general director of NRJ Maroc, noted during a press conference held yesterday to present the festival that “Music Week in Casablanca is expected to welcome over 10,000 visitors daily and will gather international artists, emerging talents, and a broad audience within a rich and varied program.”

He assured that the first edition of this event is just the beginning, emphasizing that “the Music Week in Casablanca will enhance the status and image of the economic capital every year, as well as create a sustainable platform for cultural exchange and innovation.”

He added that “the Music Week in Casablanca is a vision that has become a reality. We wanted to organize an event that reflects the vitality, diversity, and youth of the city, establishing it as a meeting point for cultures,” indicating that “this first edition has a clear ambition to make Casablanca a major cultural hub at the regional level.”

For his part, Mohamed Jouahri, the general manager of the local development company for Casablanca Entertainment and Events, highlighted that “this event is part of a dynamic cultural transformation that we have been striving for in Casablanca for years. Through Casablanca Music Week, we aim to establish a new style of cultural experience in an urban environment.”

He added, “By supporting this initiative, we strongly affirm our desire for Casablanca to become an open platform for artistic innovation, urban cultures, and contemporary forms of expression. The festival aligns perfectly with our vision: a city that inspires its creative youth, gathers them, and amplifies their voices.”

In turn, Ben Aissa Boujnouni, the regional director of the National Company for Stadium Construction and Management (SONARGES), praised the hosting of “La Casablancaise” for this significant event, noting that “opening this space for major cultural events embodies our commitment to making it a multifunctional hub that serves Moroccan youth and creativity, while also making the festival a wonderful showcase of these potentials.”

He remarked that “the Music Week in Casablanca is a tangible example of this: it showcases the full potential of this venue to host major cultural events capable of mobilizing and welcoming a large audience.”

At the end of the week, the festival will feature concerts by international stars such as Jason Derulo, Gims, Mary J. Blige, and Hussain Al Jassmi, alongside the Hoba Hoba Spirit band.

These performers, coming from different corners of the world, will delight the festival audience with shows that will remain etched in the memory of all who attend this event, blending various musical styles from R&B to hip-hop, passing through pop and Arabic and Moroccan music.

The Music Week in Casablanca (CMW) is not limited to musical concerts alone; it will also include screenings of cinematic productions in open-air settings, offering the audience a chance to discover the latest in cinema in a unique atmosphere.

Additionally, a series of discussions and panels will be organized, featuring experts and cultural actors, to engage in serious debates about the future of event organization and creative industries. These meetings are designed to enrich the experiences of festival-goers and add a cultural dimension to this cultural event, making it a comprehensive festival.

Moreover, the Music Week village in Casablanca will have a special area as a real living space, combining a food village featuring around fifteen specialized culinary stalls and immersive workshops proposed by partners, along with other segments focused on cinema, electronic games, and sports.

Tickets are available now on the websites webook.com and guichet.com, offering two types of entrance: Gold Tickets or Black, as well as Gold or Black Passes that grant access to all concerts.
