Casablanca.. A Collaborator with Hicham Girando Sent to Aïn Sebaâ Prison for Defaming Security Institutions
Sources have reported that the public prosecutor at the criminal court in Aïn Sebaâ, Casablanca, decided on Thursday evening to refer an individual suspected of collaborating with TikToker Hicham Girando, residing in Canada, to Aïn Sebaâ local prison. This step is part of an investigation into charges related to defamation and the undermining of national institutions.
According to corroborating sources, the suspect, a man in his forties working in the field of information technology, was apprehended by members of the national police judicial brigade in the city of Hajjab. He was subsequently presented to the relevant public prosecutor’s office in Casablanca.
The accused is alleged to have provided Hicham Girando with data and information about employees of the General Directorate for National Security, which Girando exploited in content deemed defamatory and inciting.
The deputy public prosecutor, Jamal Al-Harour, decided to pursue the accused while in custody, referring him to a trial session that has been postponed until next week, according to the same sources.
This judicial action is part of ongoing efforts by judicial and security authorities to combat defamation and digital blackmail crimes, which have increasingly targeted various national institutions and administrative frameworks at all levels, within the context of exploiting social media platforms for misleading and defamatory purposes.
