El Tahravi: 40 Billion Dirhams to Strengthen Health Services and Double Medical Training

Follow-Up

Ameen El Tahravi, a member of the Political Bureau of the National Rally of Independents party and Minister of Health and Social Protection, announced that the government has allocated over 40 billion dirhams to enhance health services and strengthen the sector’s infrastructure. During the fourth round of the "Path to Achievements" program in the Souss-Massa region, he confirmed that the health system reform project is proceeding in accordance with royal directives, aiming to improve service quality and expand health coverage.

The minister indicated that the plan also includes doubling the number of training slots for doctors and nurses to address the shortage of human resources. It involves establishing new regulatory bodies, including the National Blood Agency, the Agency for Medicines and Medical Equipment, and the High Health Authority, which will begin its operations soon.

El Tahravi highlighted the progress in digitizing the sector through the adoption of a shared medical file to facilitate treatment monitoring. He mentioned the launch of territorial health groups, which will provide regions with greater autonomy in managing the sector according to the needs of the population. This initiative was started in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region as a pilot project before being expanded.

The minister reiterated his commitment to implementing the vision of his party and the government majority in the health sector, under royal leadership.
