The University of Abdelmalek Essaadi Continues to Shine in the Global Sustainable Development Rankings
The University of Abdelmalek Essaadi has excelled for the fourth consecutive year in the “Times Higher Education – Impact Ranking 2025,” which evaluates universities worldwide based on their achievement of the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations.
A statement issued by the university confirmed that this distinction reflects the institution’s continuous commitment to these goals. Since its first ranking in 2022, it has increased the number of goals it engages with from five to eleven, achieving outstanding performance in four key areas.
The university has particularly stood out in goal six related to clean water and sanitation, goal twelve concerning responsible consumption and production, along with goal fourteen regarding life below water, and goal fifteen related to life on land. These areas demonstrate the university’s focus on environmental sustainability and responsible management practices in education.
The university stated that this international ranking enhances its national and international visibility and solidifies its position as a responsible university that adopts a clear vision regarding global environmental and social challenges by integrating sustainable development principles into its internal policies, education, and research.
The university considers this recognition not only a validation of its academic efforts but also a reflection of its practical commitment to contributing to the Kingdom’s vision for environmental protection and sustainable balance, following the university’s social responsibility approach, making it a key player in fostering positive change at both local and international levels.
