Zainab Ashouiyakh Zerqti responds to accusations by Hicham Grandou: False claims that harm her honor and warrant legal action.

Zainab Ben Mohamed Ashouiyakh Zerqti, daughter of the well-known resistance fighter and security official in Chefchaouen, has responded to what she described as “false allegations” made by YouTuber Hicham Grandou on social media platforms, which she considered a cheap attempt to tarnish her personal and family reputation.

In a response reviewed by the newspaper, Zainab firmly denied all accusations attributed to her by Grandou, pointing out that the facts and those close to her refute the claims she deemed “bland” and “offensive” to her honor, her family’s honor, and her children. She emphasized that she retains her legal right to pursue the matter in court.

Zainab clarified that what was mentioned in Grandou’s recordings reflects a “deep-seated resentment” toward what she described as the honorable people of the nation, adding that the accused, known for his repeated attacks on Moroccan personalities and institutions, “missed the mark.” She stated that those around her know her as a woman of high morals and deep national loyalty.

In her response, Zainab recalled the legacy of her father, Mohamed Ashouiyakh Zerqti, a symbol of resistance in Chefchaouen, whom she described as “honest and noble,” dedicating his life to ensuring the safety of citizens and defending the homeland. She asserted that her Rif roots and national upbringing serve as her “moral shield” against all forms of defamation.

She concluded by stating that the judiciary will be the ultimate judge, vowing that “truth will prevail” and that she will not allow anyone to compromise her dignity or insult her family’s history.
