Wydad Racing Club is racing against time to secure the contract for Thimbenkhosi Lorch, currently on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns. The South African club has set the financial value for Lorch’s contract between 8.22 million dirhams and 11 million dirhams, according to local media reports.
The South African newspaper “Soccer Laduma” revealed that Sundowns’ management based this evaluation on the fact that Lorch has two additional seasons remaining on his contract. The club aims to realize profits exceeding the initial investment made when acquiring him from Orlando Pirates, which they consider a “successful deal.”
Wydad hopes to finalize the purchase of Lorch’s contract before the end of May so that he can be registered in their squad for the FIFA Club World Cup, taking place from June 14 to July 13.
Lorch joined Wydad during the last winter transfer window on a loan deal that extends until the end of the current season, coming from Mamelodi Sundowns. Since his arrival, the South African player has demonstrated impressive performances, notably scoring the winning goal in the “Clasico” against the Royal Army.
