Wydad Athletic Club lost to their Portuguese visitors, Porto, with a score of 1-0 in their second pre-season friendly ahead of the Club World Cup.
This result came just four days after a defeat to Sevilla, who won their first friendly against the red team with a similar scoreline.
The first half saw Porto take the lead after a swift counter-attack, aided by a coverage error from Ayoub Bouchtat, allowing forward Samo to slot the ball into the net.
Wydad had several opportunities in the first half, notably through Al-Matarji and Obeing, with the latter missing a crucial chance after a stellar save from goalkeeper Diego Costa.
In the second half, Wydad made numerous changes, particularly in the attack, bringing on Aziz Ki and Hamza El Hanouri to inject fresh energy and search for an equalizer.
The red team aggressively pushed towards the Portuguese goal, while the guests attempted to extend their lead, but the score remained unchanged, concluding the match with Porto’s narrow victory.
