The Royal Moroccan Football Federation honored the African champions of women’s futsal during a reception held yesterday evening at the Mohamed VI Football Complex. This event celebrated the historic achievement of the national women’s team, which claimed the title of the first edition of the African Women’s Nations Cup.

In an official statement, the Federation praised the immense efforts made by the players alongside the technical and administrative staff, underscoring that this success represents a culmination of the progressive trajectory of women’s football in Morocco and reflects the growth of its continental and international presence.

The ceremony was attended by the families of the players and members of the national team, who shared moments of joy and pride at this accomplishment in a festive atmosphere, symbolizing the significance of the achievement and the standing that national women’s football has reached.

During the event, the President of the Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, read out the royal message addressed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, congratulating the team for their successful representation of Morocco.

This African title came after the Moroccan team defeated their Tanzanian counterparts in the final match with a score of three goals to two, marking the team’s first continental title in the history of women’s futsal and confirming the positive momentum that this sport has gained in the Kingdom.
