The public prosecution office in Marrakech has remanded four suspects in custody following their involvement in a case concerning the possession and trafficking of 27 kilograms of hashish.

This decision came after the public prosecution reviewed the minutes from the judicial police and concluded the interrogation process, charging the four detainees with drug trafficking, transportation, and distribution.

The anti-drug unit of the regional judicial police in Marrakech managed to apprehend the suspects on Saturday evening, in coordination with elements from the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, based on strong intelligence regarding their involvement in drug possession and trafficking.

The operation resulted in the arrest of two suspects upon their arrival in Marrakech in a light vehicle coming from one of the northern cities, where a search led to the seizure of approximately 27 kilograms of hashish.

Continuing with the investigations, authorities managed to arrest two additional suspects believed to be connected to the same criminal activity, along with seizing two motorcycles presumably used in the trafficking and transportation operations.

This operation is part of the ongoing efforts by national security services to combat the phenomenon of illicit drug trafficking and to enhance security and stability within urban neighborhoods.
