The Moroccan national team overcame Sierra Leone and secured a spot in the World Cup
Morocco’s under-20 national team has clinched its place in the semi-finals of the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations after defeating Sierra Leone 1-0 in their quarter-final match on Monday.
The match remained goalless throughout both halves, marked by a lack of clear scoring opportunities, leading the teams into extra time.
In the second extra period, Sierra Leone’s Amara Keita scored an own goal in the 115th minute, giving the Moroccan team the lead.
With this qualification, Morocco has ensured its participation in the World Cup finals, set to take place in Chile from September 27 to October 19.
