His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, has sent a profound message to Moroccan pilgrims for the Hajj season of 1446 AH, coinciding with the departure of the first group of pilgrims to the holy lands.

Below is the text of the royal message, delivered by Mr. Ahmed Toufiq, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, today, before the first group of esteemed Moroccan pilgrims departed from Rabat-Salé Airport:

“Praise be to Allah alone, and peace and blessings be upon our Master Muhammad, his family, and companions.

Esteemed pilgrims,

May Allah grant you safety and protection. Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.

It is with great happiness that we extend our congratulations to the first group of our esteemed pilgrims, as well as to all other groups, for the blessing of performing the Hajj this year. We share your emotions, as you are all eager to reach those sacred sites and visit the blessed dwelling of our ancestor, the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. We ask Almighty Allah to accept your rites, fulfill your hopes, respond to your prayers, and grant you a safe and prosperous return to your homeland. Indeed, He is All-Hearing, Responsive.

Esteemed pilgrims,

We address you in the spirit of the great trust that Allah has placed upon us as the Commander of the Faithful, which involves safeguarding the rites of Islam. Among the foremost of this protection is enabling men and women believers to fulfill their religious obligations, especially concerning one of the pillars of Islam, such as Hajj. We have facilitated this, thanks to the instructions we issued to our Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs to prepare for this task through arrangements, organization, scientific training, and spiritual guidance. This is because performing the Hajj pillar requires a spiritual readiness for travel and residence, essential for the correct fulfillment of the rites as stipulated in the Qur’an and Sunnah. This is a personal responsibility for each pilgrim, one that cannot be delegated, and can only be supported by patience, remembrance, and humility, ensuring the intention is upheld without distraction.

Thus, be diligent—may Allah protect you—while you are in the holy lands during the days of Hajj to carry out your rites with their essential pillars, obligations, Sunnah, and recommended practices. Ensure that no precious moment passes without being engaged in prayer, seeking forgiveness, and remembrance, so that you may attain the reward promised by Allah to believers who perform the accepted Hajj, in accordance with the saying of the Prophet, peace be upon him: ‘The accepted Hajj brings no reward except Paradise.’

Esteemed pilgrims,

After this advice to always remember Allah in what lies ahead as you chant, ‘Here I am, O Allah, here I am,’ we urge you not to forget our constant concern for the sanctity of our religious sites, intertwined with our commitment to preserving our national identity, especially in its moral dimensions. Be endowed with the sublime values of Islam, characterized by true brotherhood, comprehensive forgiveness, beautiful patience, and active solidarity, in compliance with Allah’s saying: ‘The months of Hajj are well-known. So whoever has made there an obligation upon himself, there is to be no lewdness, no sin, and no disputing during Hajj. And whatever good you do, Allah knows it. And take provisions, but indeed, the best provision is fear of Allah. And fear Me, O you of understanding.’

Esteemed pilgrims,

You know—may Allah protect you—that fulfilling the Hajj obligation, which entails performing the rites and standing at the sacred sites, and moving between the holy places, requires knowledge of its pillars, obligations, and Sunnah. It also necessitates your respect for the arrangements and directives issued by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, which is keen to provide you with the conditions for your comfort during your travels, enabling you to optimally perform your rites with the support of various specialized teams who accompany you from your country’s departure until your return. This includes scholars and guides, doctors and nurses dedicated to your health, and administrators available throughout the day to offer essential services.

In this regard, it is no secret that performing the Hajj in those sacred lands requires compliance with the organizational measures undertaken by the competent authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which ensures that the pilgrims feel reassured, allowing the Hajj season to unfold in the manner it ought to be—with order, safety, and security, under the esteemed guidance of our beloved brother, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, may Allah grant him health and long life, and may He strengthen him with his Crown Prince, our beloved brother, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Prime Minister. Here, we also wish to express our deep pride and appreciation for the fraternal relations shared between our two kingdoms and peoples.

Esteemed pilgrims,

It is essential to remind you—since reminders benefit the believers—that as much as you should represent the ideal values of Islam—integrity, good conduct, solidarity, and sincere devotion to Allah during this great season, you must also represent your country, Morocco, and embody its rich culture, known throughout history for unity, cohesion, and adherence to national and religious sanctities based on moderation and balance, and shared religious doctrine. Be ambassadors of your country in preserving its luminous civilizational image. Know that these values and principles have contributed to our country enjoying security and stability and continuing its successful journey under our wise leadership towards further progress and prosperity.

And remember in this sacred moment, as well as in others, especially at the stand of Arafat, the duty to pray for your King, who is devoted to your comfort and security and the unity of your homeland, and to the development of your living conditions. Pray to Allah for us for continued victory, guidance towards sound work, and good health and wellness for ourselves and our noble families. Also, may He grant us a glimpse of joy in our Crown Prince, His Royal Highness, Prince Hassan, and may He encompass our revered ancients: King Mohammed V and King Hassan II, may Allah bless their souls. May He protect our country with His grace and attention and bestow upon it His loving care.

Esteemed pilgrims,

You undoubtedly look forward to fulfilling your spiritual longings during this great season by visiting the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina and standing with reverence and humility before the best of creation and Seal of the Prophets, our ancestor, the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.

So remember—may Allah grant you success—what is required of you in terms of reverence, supplication, and respect for the Prophet of mercy and the guided bounty. Strive to obtain the reward that Allah has promised to those who send blessings upon him, as he said: ‘Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah sends blessings upon him tenfold.’ In every place you pass through in these sacred sites and pure spiritual moments, do not forget to pray the best of prayers for your King, who is dedicated to your safety and prosperity, and for the stability and dignity of your homeland, restoring it to its rightful position in its regional context and Islamic world.

Finally, we renew our prayers for you, esteemed pilgrims, for an accepted Hajj, sincere efforts, abundant rewards, and a safe and prosperous return to your homes.

Indeed, He is capable of whatever He wills, and worthy of answering your prayers.

And peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah, and His blessings.”
