CAF Reveals New Design for Confederation Cup as RS Berkane Aims for Historic Victory
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a redesign of the African Confederation Cup trophy, aligning with recent changes to several other cups, including the African Champions League and youth tournaments.
CAF confirmed on its official website that the new design will be unveiled ahead of the highly anticipated final match scheduled for next Saturday at the “Aman” Stadium in Zanzibar, which will feature Tanzanian side Simba SC against Moroccan club RS Berkane.
RS Berkane is eager to become the first club to win the new version of the trophy, having claimed the previous edition twice. The upcoming match presents a historic opportunity for the Berkane team to assert its continental dominance and etch its name in golden letters in the championship’s history.
The Moroccan team has already taken a significant step towards the final after defeating Simba SC 2-0 in the first leg, played at the municipal stadium in Berkane, with goals from Lamine Kamara and Osama Al-Maloui in the first half.
The final match is set to kick off next Sunday at 2 PM Morocco time, having been rescheduled from its earlier time of 4 PM.
