Morocco Reaffirms Practical and Diplomatic Support for the Palestinian Cause from Rabat

Ossar Ahmed

Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, reaffirmed Morocco’s steadfast commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause during the fifth meeting of the International Coalition for a Two-State Solution held on Tuesday in the capital, Rabat. He emphasized that the Kingdom combines political and practical support, not engaging in rhetoric but focusing on what serves the interests of the Palestinians and supports their legitimate rights.

Bourita clarified that Morocco does not limit itself to denouncing and giving speeches but provides tangible support on the ground, noting the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to deliver food and medical aid to Palestinians, even in the most challenging conditions, and its mediation to ensure continuity in financial transactions between the Palestinian and Israeli sides. He highlighted Morocco’s efforts through the Al-Quds House of Wealth in supporting education, providing care for orphans, funding hospitals, and projects aimed at Palestinian women.

The minister pointed out that Morocco’s support for Palestinian institutions is a fundamental pillar of its approach, considering that the authority led by Mahmoud Abbas is a key partner in the peace process. He added that the Kingdom views strengthening these institutions as a crucial factor in ensuring any sustainable political solution.

Bourita emphasized that Morocco believes the two-state solution is the only viable path and is keen to uphold international references without compromising them. He also stated that Rabat is hosting this international meeting to enhance collective efforts towards a just peace based on Palestinian rights, at a time when these references are facing attempts at marginalization and abolition.
