A Moroccan referee, Nour Eddine Lakhiw, is leading the international tournaments “President’s Cup” and “President’s Cup for Juniors” in taekwondo, organized in the Bulgarian capital Sofia from May 16 to 19, 2025.
Nour Eddine Lakhiw is one of the prominent Moroccan referees who has proven his competence in officiating the most prestigious international taekwondo events. He is also recognized as an outstanding national talent in sports management and officiating.
Lakihiw has received numerous training courses both within Morocco and abroad, notably obtaining an international certification in Sports Technology Management from the Royal Institute for Training and Development in partnership with the International Academy of Sports in Lausanne, Switzerland.
His active participation in the tenth edition of the “President’s Cup” and “President’s Cup for Juniors” in Sofia highlights his role as an Arab and African international referee. He stands out as the only African referee among 56 international referees under the supervision of Mr. Mohamed Arkoubi, the head of the referees’ committee for this tournament.
Nour Eddine Lakhiw represents Morocco with pride and dedication, demonstrating his high capabilities and professionalism in managing taekwondo matches. He aims to be part of the refereeing team for major global competitions, including the upcoming Olympic Games planned in Los Angeles, USA, during the summer of 2028.
