Lassaad Chabi criticizes officiating after Raja’s draw with Ittihad Tangier
Lassaad Chabi, coach of RSB Raja, harshly criticized the performance of referee Said Boujidi, holding him responsible for the goalless draw against Ittihad Tangier in their recent match, which saw two goals for Raja disallowed.
In his statements following the match, Chabi affirmed that his team did everything necessary to win, mentioning that they scored two goals that were not counted. He indicated that the team needed to score four or five goals to guarantee at least one being counted. He expressed confidence in the validity of the first disallowed goal, noting that the second might have been an offside.
Chabi expressed surprise at the decision to cancel one of the goals, citing a supposed foul on the goalkeeper. He clarified that the rules are clear in such situations and that his team did not commit any infraction that would warrant the disallowance.
He urged referees to maintain their professional and moral responsibilities when officiating matches, stating, “The referee should think of his family and children watching the game, and whether they will be proud of him or not.”
Chabi concluded his remarks with clear frustration, stating that he had nothing more to say, adding that his team did not come to settle for a draw, but the referee enforced the draw result, asserting that even if the match continued for four days, the outcome would not change.
