Is Idriss El Radee Liquidating His Assets in Preparation for His Trial?

Informed sources have confirmed that former MP Idriss El Radee, from the Horse Party, has received substantial financial offers from Moroccan and Gulf investors to sell vast agricultural lands he owns in the Gharb region, at a time when he faces legal proceedings and has been absent from his court hearings after having his passport revoked.

The same sources indicated that El Radee received an offer exceeding 2 billion dirhams for a farm spanning 96 hectares that is classified as state property, while an offer for a second property, over 104 hectares in size, reached around 2.2 billion dirhams, approximately 220 million dirhams per hectare.

These offers came through brokers on behalf of the investors, while El Radee has allegedly stipulated that he wants the payment in cash and directly, without going through banking procedures or the formal contracts typically required in such major real estate transactions.

These rapid financial maneuvers raise significant questions in political and legal circles, especially given his ongoing disregard for court summons and his prolonged absence from trial sessions, which raises concerns about his true intentions, particularly as the proposed sales coincide with increased judicial pressure on him.

Known in the Gharb region as one of the wealthiest real estate owners, El Radee previously rose from a humble career as a taxi driver to a realm of wealth and influence. However, he is now pursued by serious legal issues, the complete details of which remain outside the media’s reach, deepening the debate surrounding the motives behind his recent actions and the possibility that he is seeking to liquidate his assets in anticipation of any judicial developments that might restrict his freedom or hold him criminally accountable.
