Exploring Prospects for Enhancing Bilateral Cooperation in Transportation and Logistics between Morocco and Jordan

The Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdessamad Kayouh, met yesterday in Rabat with the President of the Senate of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Faisal Akef Al-Fayez, to discuss the prospects for developing bilateral cooperation in the fields of transport and logistics.

The talks, which took place during the Jordanian official’s participation in the South-South Parliamentary Dialogue Forum, focused on the potential for establishing partnerships in the railway transport sector, drawing on Morocco’s leading experience in operating the high-speed train “Al-Boraq.”

They also addressed ways to exchange expertise in managing road, air, and maritime transport, as well as facilitating logistical connectivity between the two countries to enhance trade exchanges.

Both sides discussed also enhancing flight connections between the two kingdoms, aimed at supporting the smooth movement of individuals, promoting tourism, and deepening the ties between the two brotherly peoples.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties stressed the importance of advancing institutional cooperation and exploring partnership opportunities among stakeholders in both countries, as well as coordinating in regional and international forums related to the transport and logistics sectors, to serve the goals of economic integration.

The President of the Senate of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan praised Morocco’s experience in the transport sector in a statement to the press, expressing his country’s desire to benefit from Moroccan expertise to develop the Jordanian transport sector.

He noted that Morocco’s experience in transport is unique, expressing hope to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields.

The Jordanian official also commended the depth and strength of the historical relations that bind the two kingdoms, established by the late Kings Mohammed V, Hassan II, and Hussein, and which continue under the wise leadership of King Mohammed VI and King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein.
