Algerian writer Anwar Malek reveals in Rabat the secrets of the alliance between the Polisario and Iran in a new release.
On Saturday evening, May 31, 2025, Algerian writer and media figure Anwar Malek presented his new book titled “Polisario and Iran: Secrets of Terrorism from Tehran to Tindouf,” at a press conference organized by the Democratic Forces Party at a hotel in Rabat.
The book sheds light on unprecedented information regarding what Malek describes as the “covert alliance” between the Polisario Front and the Iranian regime. It highlights security and military coordination that extends from Tindouf to Tehran, encompassing networks involved in smuggling, training, and funding. The author, who previously participated in the Arab observers mission in Syria, relies on testimonials, documents, and field observations for this work.
The conference is part of a series titled “Morocco’s Relations with its Neighbors,” initiated by the Democratic Forces Party since June 2021, aimed at exposing the background behind regional positions hostile to the territorial integrity of the Kingdom and uncovering their roles in destabilizing regional stability.
The presentation of the book comes in a specific political context, following the Syrian authorities’ announcement to close the Polisario Front’s offices in Damascus and their refusal to release hundreds of detained individuals on charges related to participating in military operations within Syrian territory. Observers have interpreted this step as a clear shift in Damascus’s position, confirming its involvement in supporting Moroccan sovereignty.
The Democratic Forces Party confirmed that this meeting concludes the second axis of its seminar series, with the next seminar dedicated to human rights violations in the Tindouf camps, before moving to a new axis that explores the role of shared heritage in building cooperative relations between Morocco and its neighbors.
