The House of Representatives renews its pride in the support provided by His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the Palestinian cause.

The Council stated, in a statement read by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohammed Al-Sabbari, at the beginning of the oral questions session, its pride in the humanitarian and social work carried out by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, which reinforces the resilience and presence of Palestinians in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip. This work is a tangible representation of the historical positions that have always been held by the Kingdom of Morocco—King, people, government, and political and civil components—regarding the Palestinian cause.

The Council also affirmed its support and commitment to the positions and initiatives embodied and reflected by the Kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, regarding the conflict in the Middle East and specifically the Palestinian issue.

In another context, the House expressed its deep concern and serious apprehension regarding the continued Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank, which results in the killing of civilians and targeting of essential infrastructure and civilian homes, leading to casualties, waves of displacement, and suffering for the Palestinian people in Gaza.

It emphasized that halting aggression and ending all forms and manifestations of war should be the starting point for a political and diplomatic horizon, reflecting the hopes of the Palestinian people to end their suffering and occupation of their lands, leading to sincere and serious negotiations under international auspices, aimed at achieving a final and just settlement of the Palestinian issue based on relevant international legitimacy resolutions that guarantee the establishment of a recognized and viable Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

After affirming that Gaza, like the West Bank, is an integral part of Palestinian territory, it stressed that discussing Gaza should not lead to forgetting or ignoring the situation in the West Bank and what is happening in Jerusalem, recalling His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s position as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee regarding the preservation of the legal and historical status of Jerusalem and its maintenance as a city of coexistence, as well as supporting the resilience of Jerusalemites, especially in these difficult circumstances.

The House of Representatives called on the influential powers in international decision-making to use their influence and regional and international weight to commit to this direction, which should uphold the rights of the Palestinian people who deserve, under the leadership of their internationally recognized legitimate institutions, to live in peace alongside the other nations and peoples of the region.
