In preparation for the implementation of Law No. 43.22 related to alternative penalties, the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration organized a study day on Thursday, April 18, 2025, at the National Center for Training in Tiflet. The event was chaired by the General Secretary of the Delegation and attended by central officials and directors from various prison institutions across the Kingdom.
This communication meeting was dedicated to discussing the means to effectively implement the new responsibilities assigned to the delegation regarding the oversight of alternative penalties, ahead of the law coming into effect on August 22, 2025.
During this study day, presentations and workshops were held to review the legal provisions related to alternative penalties, alongside an overview of the procedures and measures adopted to ensure a smooth and organized implementation of this important legislative initiative. The importance of providing a conducive legal and administrative environment was emphasized, which includes completing the regulatory texts and preparing qualified human resources to carry out their tasks in this new area.
In this context, the General Delegation underscored the significance of training human resources by organizing educational and awareness-raising sessions for employees, enabling them to grasp the new law and apply it effectively in practice.
Additionally, the meeting recognized the efforts made by various components of the delegation, both centrally and locally, urging everyone to continue diligent work and fully engage in making this reform project a success, aligning with the nation’s vision for modernizing the criminal justice system under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him.
This study day is part of a series of preparatory meetings and gatherings that will continue in the coming months, reflecting the General Delegation’s commitment to well-organized and systematic preparations for implementing one of the most significant legal reform projects in the Kingdom.
