Royal Air Maroc Signs Partnership Agreement to Boost International Tourism to Brazil

Royal Air Maroc signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday in São Paulo with the Brazilian tourism promotion agency “Embratur,” aimed at supporting international tourism to Brazil, leveraging the air connectivity provided by the national carrier.

The agreement was signed at the Moroccan company’s stand during the “World Travel Market Latin America,” one of the most prominent tourism and professional exhibitions in the region. This protocol is based on implementing joint promotional initiatives targeting travelers from Europe, Africa, and the Arab world to the Brazilian destination.

The agreement strengthens the existing partnership between Royal Air Maroc’s regional representative in Latin America, Othmane Baba, and the international marketing director of Embratur, Bruno Reis, following the resumption of direct flights between Casablanca and São Paulo.

In a press statement, Embratur’s president, Marcelo Freixo, confirmed that the agreement is part of a program to accelerate international tourism, believing it contributes to supporting tourism growth and generating new job opportunities within the Brazilian economy.

Meanwhile, Othmane Baba indicated that the agreement aims to increase the frequency of flights to Brazil, highlighting that the main markets sending tourists to Brazil through Royal Air Maroc include several European and Arab countries, notably Portugal, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, Russia, and Egypt.

The airline currently operates three weekly flights between Casablanca and São Paulo, with future plans to increase this to five or six flights per week.

The promotional program has also recently organized field visits to São Paulo for travel agents from Spain and Portugal, while a similar campaign is expected to take place in May targeting the French market.

This protocol, signed for an initial period of 12 months and subject to renewal, aims to implement joint promotional campaigns, participate in international exhibitions and events, organize training sessions for professionals, enhance traveler experiences at airports, and develop multilingual digital content. It also includes seeking new opportunities to expand Royal Air Maroc’s presence in additional Brazilian destinations.
