King Mohammed VI Receives Foreign Ministers of the Sahel Alliance and Affirms Morocco’s Support for Regional Integration
On Monday, Moroccan King Mohammed VI received the foreign ministers of the three Sahel Alliance member countries at the Royal Palace in Rabat: Karamoko Jean-Marie Traoré from Burkina Faso, Abdoulaye Diop from Mali, and Bakari Yaou Sangaré from Niger.
This meeting highlights the strengthening of relations between Morocco and the three countries, characterized by friendship, cooperation, and mutual support.
The foreign ministers conveyed messages of appreciation to King Mohammed VI from their heads of state, expressing gratitude for his ongoing interest in Sahel issues and the initiatives he has launched to support economic and social development in the region.
During the meeting, the ministers praised the Rabat Initiative, which aims to enable Sahel countries to access the Atlantic Ocean, viewing it as a strategic step to enhance regional integration. They reaffirmed their commitment to working together to accelerate its implementation.
The meeting also included a presentation on the progress made in establishing the institutional framework for the Sahel countries’ alliance, which was founded to enhance coordination and integration among member states.
